Ohiopyle State Park will host Music in the Mountains, a free music and crafts festival for the public, on Saturday. This year, programming begins at noon and will run until 9 p.m. at the Falls area in downtown Ohiopyle. A variety of programs will be featured throughout the day. This year’s entertainment includes: noon, Ben Dean, live snakes; 2 p.m., Earl Shriver, live birds of prey; 4 p.m., James Zelmore, classic country; and 6 p.m., Stewed Mulligan, bluegrass. The main Ohiopyle Falls will be lit at nightfall. This will mark the 17th year for the festival, which once again has been sponsored by local businesses. All Saints Church Labor Day Weekend Festival will be held on the church grounds at 100 S. Washington St., Masontown. The event will take place from 5 to 11 p.m. today through Sunday. There will be music, entertainment, games, games of chance, bingo, homemade ethnic and American foods, hayrides and nightly cash drawings. A full course stuffed chicken breast dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Social Hall. There is a cost for adults and children.
The Woodland Zoo/Herald-Standard Pavilion will present a Country Kids’ Fair from 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday in Farmington.
Farewell to Summer at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort begins today and continues through Sunday. The event will feature live entertainment and activities for all ages. Carnival games, a night-time mini golf tournament, family relay races, a pie-eating contest and inflatable games are just some of the activities. Guests may visit for the day or inquire about special Labor Day Weekend packages by calling 866-399-6957. There is a cost for adults and children. Reservations are required for the barbecue.
Hoe-down, round and square dancing, slow dancing, Polkas, line dancing and clogging will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. today at the Waynesburg Moose. Dave Dahl will provide music and figure calling. A donation will be charged.
Classic Car Cruise will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Arctic Delite, located along Route 51 about three miles north of Uniontown. There is a cost for vehicle registration. Dash plaques and trophies will be awarded. Car registrants will receive a coupon for one free soft drink. The event benefits the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. The Belmont Inn on Barton Mill Road in Uniontown will hold a benefit to raise funds for the family of Mark Kraynak who has been missing in Canada since Aug. 22. Mark’s father, Frank Kraynak, and his sister, Megan, are both employees of the Belmont Inn and have incurred major expenses in travel and accommodations in Montreal this past week. The benefit will take place at the Belmont Inn from 9:30 p.m. Saturday to 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Karaoke Bob (Mark’s uncle) will be the D.J. An auction will be eld at 11 p.m. Along with funds raised, owner Jim Santilli will donate a portion of the night’s proceeds to the cause. IndianRocks Music Show, home of The Midnight Cowboys, will present country music at 6:30 p.m. today in Reedsville, W.Va. Country music will be presented on Saturday at the Sagebrush Round-Up on Bunner Ridge near Fairmont, W.Va. Featured acts include Ed Morgan, Don Hayes & The Country Raiders, Reaching the Harvest Ministries and The Midnight Pickers. Country music starts at 6 p.m. with the open age. The house band “Stagecoach” backs single acts and new talent. The scheduled portion of the show starts at 7 p.m. and continues until 11 p.m. There is a donation for adults. Area 51, a local band playing new and classic rock, will appear at Smitty’s from 9:30 p.m. Saturday to 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Band members include Jerry Onesi of Uniontown on bass guitar and vocals; Bob Mascia of Uniontown on drums and vocals; Jon Newman of Salisbury on guitar; and Jeff Morris of Pittsburgh on keyboards and vocals.

The 12th Pennsylvania Arts & Crafts Colonial Festival will take place today through Monday at the Westmoreland Fairgrounds. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Monday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The event will feature more than 200 indoor and outdoor exhibits. Many new exhibitors will be featured. It will be held rain or shine. Free on-site parking will be provided. The event is handicapped accessible. There is a cost for adults, senior citizens age 65 and older and children.
