Tommy’s Mom to rock Uniontown bar
Tommy’s Mom, a three-piece guitar-driven rock band from Perryopolis will be live at Champs Bar & Grill in Uniontown from 10 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday. Other shows this month include Thursday, Sept. 15, at Club Cafe in Pittsburgh and Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Uptown Theatre in Washington. The Club Cafe show begins at 10:30 p.m. and the Uptown Theatre show begins at 8:30 p.m.
With a solid rhythm section, strong original music and impressive guitar work, Tommy’s Mom has built a loyal following in the southwestern Pennsylvania area. The band has reached new heights in 2005. Tommy’s Mom has been featured on Morgantown’s largest rock station, 100.1 WCLG FM, and has been the most requested local band of the week on several occasions. The band has also been heard on Pittsburgh’s 93.7 K-ROCK FM’s local “15 Minutes of Fame” show.
Tommy’s Mom received regular airplay on California University of Pennsylvania’s radio station, 91.9 WCAL FM. Earlier this year, Tommy’s Mom was live in the WCAL studio for a two-hour acoustic performance and interview session that was broadcast live. This year has also seen Tommy’s Mom become repeat performers at high-profile venues, such as the Hard Rock Cafe and Club Cafe in Pittsburgh. In the 2005 Rocks 2 Riches Battle of the Bands, Tommy’s Mom was a performing finalist and placed third.
The band features Tom Rebovich on bass guitar and lead vocals, Larry Shotter on drums and percussion and Mark Vinsick on guitar and vocals.
Formed in late 2003, Tommy’s Mom combines the influences of bands from Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica to Green Day, Blink 182 and the Foo Fighters, as well as the influences of all of the different musicians they’ve been involved with through the years, including Chris Higbee of the Povertyneck Hillbillies and internationally known guitarist Reb Beach, who has played with Alice Cooper, Whitesnake, Dokken and Winger.
