Trinity Recital Series to begin
The 2005-06 Trinity Recital Series begins at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, when soprano Constance Fee and pianist Michael Landrum present a program of contemporary and classical sacred music in the sanctuary of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Uniontown. The concert will feature Fee who will sing “Urlicht” from Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, as well as art songs by such composes as Debussy, Saint-Saens and Obradors.
Fee received her master of music in vocal performance from the Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington, performer’s certificate from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and bachelor of music education from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J. She is director of the vocal program and artist-in-residence at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, N.Y. Fee has performed leading roles with opera companies and on concert stages throughout Europe and the U.S.
In addition to his duties as professor of piano at Roberts Wesleyan College, Dr. Michael Landrum is an active recitalist in the Rochester area and beyond. He received his doctor of musical arts degree from Temple University, a master of fine arts from the California Institute of the Arts and his bachelor of music degree from Oberlin College. Landrum will accompany Fee and perform solo piano pieces by Faure.
The concert is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be received. Trinity United Presbyterian Church is located at the corner of Morgantown and Fayette streets in Uniontown. Ample parking is available across from the church. Call the church at 724-437-2709.
