Connellsville church to host choir festival
CONNELLSVILLE – The First Baptist Church of Connellsville will host the Monongahela Baptist Association Choir Festival at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 23. The event is usually held at a different Baptist church each year. The pastor of the Connellsville Baptist Church is Dean Meyer. Organist and choir director is Joanna Ball.
Eight churches in the association will participate. They include First Baptist of Fairchance, Great Bethel Baptist of Uniontown, Star Junction Baptist, First Baptist of Point Marion, Indian Creek Baptist, Oak Hill Baptist of Smithfield, Mount Moriah Baptist of Smithfield and the Connellsville First Baptist.
Each choir will perform individually. Then, everyone will combine to sing in the number “Fly Away Medley” arranged by Mark Hayes.
The public is invited to attend. The Connellsville church is located on the corner of South Pittsburgh Street and Wills Road.
