local Polkas on the Mountains of Pennsylvania will be held today through Sunday at the Mount Summit Inn and Resort. The event will feature Richie Gomulka & Jimmy Homel Changing Times, Ray Jay & Carousels, Andy Fenus Trel Tones and Frank Stetar & Mon Valley Push.

The First Baptist Church of Connellsville will host the Monongahela Baptist Association Choir Festival at 4 p.m. Sunday. The event is usually held at a different Baptist church each year. Pastor of the Connellsville Baptist Church is Dean Meyer. Organist and choir director is Joanna Ball. Eight churches in the association will participate. They are First Baptist of Fairchance, Great Bethel Baptist of Uniontown, Star Junction Baptist, First Baptist of Point Marion, Indian Creek Baptist, Oak Hill Baptist from Smithfield, Mount Moriah Baptist of Smithfield and Connellsville First Baptist. Each choir will perform individually.
Then everyone will combine to sing in the number “Fly Away Medley” arranged by Mark Hayes.
The public is invited to this event. The Connellsville church is located on the corner of South Pittsburgh Street and Wills Road.Arts and Music Night hosted by Scottdale Elementary School’s Parent Teacher Association will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the school. Members of the Calvary United Methodist Church, located at 34 Clark St., Uniontown, will hold a spaghetti dinner on Saturday in the church fellowship hall.
The menu includes spaghetti and meatballs, tossed salad and dressing, Italian bread and butter, coffee, iced tea or lemonade and sherbet.
Tickets will be sold at the door. Take-out dinners also will be available. Carry-out containers will be provided.

“The Olympic Spirit” is this year’s theme for the California University of Pennsylvania’s International Club Dinner, which will be held at 6 p.m., Saturday in the Gold Rush Room, located inside the Natali Student Center.

An oldies dance starring D.J. Jeff Allen from 104 Rocke Shoppe will be held on Saturday at the West Brownsville Volunteer Fire Department social hall. A buffet will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The dance will take place from 8 p.m. to midnight.
A cash bar will be available. There is an admission charge. Tickets will be sold in advance or at the door. Prizes will be awarded.

Country music will be presented Saturday at the Sagebrush Round-Up on Bunner Ridge near Fairmont, W.Va. Featured acts include Warren Jenkins & The Country Drifters with an appearance by old-time fiddler Davy Gorman, Granny Blosser/Bill Murray & Friends, Eric Harvey & Friends and Elmer Rich & The Brew House Crew. A blacksmithing event will be held on Saturday at the Young Foundry in Rices Landing, Greene County.
A collection of Yellin Tools will be on exhibit during the event. The event will feature West Virginia artist Jeff Forester, who is known for his large scale metalsmithing, organic forms and custom designs.

“Clash of Empires: The British, French & Indian War, 1754-1763,” has been held over until Sunday at the Sen. John Heinz Pittsburgh Regional History Center at 1212 Smallman St. in the Strip District. The center is open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission includes both the history center and sports museum. There is a cost.

Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival in partnership with the Blair County Historical Society announces the second annual Antique Fashion Show and Card Party will be held Sunday at the Greensburg Garden & Civic Center from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The fashion show and card party will feature vintage wedding couture and customs from 1770 to 1900.
All proceeds will benefit the Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival.
A light lunch will be served with wedding cake as dessert.
Patrons are encouraged to play cards and games of their choice.
