Frank Lloyd Wright’s House on Kentuck Knob will present “Art, Architecture and Ambience” from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The event will feature an art sale surrounding the home, complimented with wine and hors d’oeuvres. Works will be presented by Teresa Lin, jewelry designer; Sherry Serafini, bead arts; Renate Burgyan, bronze sculptor; Scott Whitford, photographer; Holly Wayne, found object artist; Nancy Smith, ceramist; and John Yothers, painter. Ohiopyle State Park will hold the following interpretive programs this weekend: Coyote, offering information on this animal and its life throughout Pennsylvania, from 8:15 to 9:45 p.m. today at Kentuck Campground Amphitheater; Trail Cleanup, allowing participants to join with Friends of Ohiopyle at 9 a.m. Saturday for their monthly trail cleanup. Those attending should bring lunch and wear work clothes and sturdy shoes; Pennsylvania Black Bear, 8:15 p.m. Saturday at Kentuck Campground Amphitheater; Survival, 11 a.m. Sunday at the Train Station in downtown Ohiopyle, dealing with survival skills for those who become lost in the woods; Ohiopyle History through the Years and Cemetery Hike, offering information on the community, from moonshine to war, and a hike to Mitchell Cemetery, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. St. Mary’s Church, Leckrone, will hold a polka Mass at 10 a.m. Sunday followed by the annual bazaar. Music will be by Vibrations. The bazaar will be held from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Foods offered will include a Slovak platter, halupki, halushki and perogies as well as funnel cakes and other picnic foods. Games, a bake sale, 2 p.m. bingo and 5 p.m. horse race game also are planned.

The Bobtown Rod and Gun Club, located at Bobtown, will be hosting a “Battle of the Bands” today through Sunday on the club grounds. Several top bands will be entertaining the crowd as well as continuous karaoke throughout the weekend. For more information, call 724-839-7460.

The Point Marion Public Library will host its final summer event at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday when it hosts the Penn State Cooperative Extension program “Catch the Bug,” featuring an exploration of the science of entomology and the importance of insects in our lives. Learn about insects with some “Buggie” activities. This event is with the cooperation of the Fayette County 4-H educational program taught by Mary Goll. There will be a distribution of free appropriate books and youngsters will take home the crafts they will make. The library is located at 399 Ontario Ave., Point Marion. A Bluegrass Festival will be held at 10 a.m. until dusk Saturday near the Ohiopyle falls. Food vendors will be selling food and drinks. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the music as regional bluegrass bands perform. Admission is free. There will be a 50/50 drawing. Performers in the Sagebrush Round-up on Saturday will include special guest Moe Bandy from Branson, Mo., in two shows at 6 and 9:30 p.m. Bandy has had 10 number one hits and more than 50 charted ones. His performance will include “Gold Ol’ Boys, Americana, Bandy The Rodeo Clown’ and “It’s A Cheating Situation.’ Also appearing will be Ray Hileman and The Wheels of Country, 501, David Townsend and Country Gentlemen, the County Raiders and the Midnight Pickers. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the music will begin at 5 p.m. The Sagebrush Round-Up is located on Bunner Ridge near Fairmont, W.Va., six miles east of Interstate 79 at exit 139. The East Winds Symphonic Band will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday in a free concert on the Diamond in Ligonier. Now in its 25th year, the East Winds Symphonic Band is comprised of approximately 50 volunteer musicians of all ages from varied walks of life and professions, sharing a common interest in instrumental music. The band performs in many locations around the Pittsburgh region, performing a variety of music including symphonies, marches, show tunes and popular medleys. Most of the musicians are from the east-suburban communities of Pittsburgh, with weekly rehearsals being held in Forest Hills. The Laurel Highland Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America will display antique cars on East Main Street during the concert. This concert is supported by donations from concert goers in addition to a grant from the Westmoreland Arts Program. In case of rain, the concert will go on as scheduled in the Town Hall Auditorium.

The Artists’ Co-op, a non-profit artist cooperative located in the Washington Trust Building, 30 E. Beau St., Washington, is recruiting new members. West Virginia Public Theatre will present the Broadway hit “CATS” from Tuesday through Sunday. “CATS” is a musical written by Tony Award winner Andrew Lloyd Webber Based on T.S. Eliot’s 14 poem books, where “Jellicle Cats” convene for a ball to choose one of their feline friends to be reborn. “CATS” first opened in 1981 in the Winter Garden theatre, and is the longest-running musical in history. The song “Memory” is forever engraved as a Broadway hit. “CATS” won Tony Awards including Best Musical. “CATS” takes place in an oversized junkyard at night. The antagonist of the show is Macavity, a criminal, yet mysteriously irresistible, feline. The 56 students of Stage Right’s second Summer Musical Theatre are set to perform this weekend at the Palace Theatre in Greensburg. The kids, ages 8 through 18 have been working for the past three weeks on selections from “Grease, Little Shop of Horrors’ and “Thoroughly Modern Millie.” The performances start at 6 p.m. today and Saturday. Tickets for the shows are available at the door. Stage Right regularly holds two summer camps. This past June its first summer camp featured 80 students. The Palace Theatre, which is the full-time home of Stage Right’s professional company, is home to the summer camps this year for the first time, thanks to a partnership with the Westmoreland Cultural Trust.
