local The California University of Pennsylvania Marching Band’s end of summer camp performance will take place at 3:30 p.m. today in the university’s Quad Area beginning in the front of Dixon Hall.
There is no charge. Both the university and local communities are invited to attend and catch the preview of this fall’s halftime show while supporting the students in the band. For more information, contact the Cal U music department at 724-938-4242.The New Salem Presbyterian Church will sponsor its seventh annual Presby Peach Fest from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are available for either the pork barbecue or hot dog meal, including cole slaw, baked beans, chips, drink and the choice of peach dessert with ice cream.
Door prizes will be drawn every 30 minutes, and a bake sale will be held in front of the church during Peach Fest hours.
The church is located at 27 S. Mill St., New Salem. Proceeds will benefit local church mission projects.

Calvary Baptist Church in Uniontown will sponsor a Family Fun Day from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Storey Square in downtown Uniontown. Events planned include Calvary’s own three-fold chord and pianist Brady Henry, a mime act by Mount Ararat’s STARS, soloist Belinda Owens, skits and more. Calvary’s former pastor and now a missionary to Mexico, Allen S. Owens, will present his ministry.
Kids’ activities include face painting, snow cones, stories, crafts and puppets.
Hoedown square dancing, slow dancing, Polkas, waltzing line dancing and clogging will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. today at the Haydentown Community Center. Dave Dahl will provide music and figure calling.
Free music will add to the day’s entertainment Sunday at Music and Reading on the Mon in Brownsville.
Multiple food booths will be up at Brownsville’s Nemacolin Castle for purchasing lunch, dinner or a snack. The music begins at 1:30 p.m. with the Mon Valley Community Band followed at 3:45 p.m. by the dulcimer music of Sutch Sounds and polka music by the Solitudes from 5 to 7 p.m. Kids can share their old books at the Book Swap Table and take a book for reading at home. Standing in the Gap will present “One Nation Under God” with Ranger Gary Horton, evangelist and motivational speaker, at 7 p.m. today at Connellsville Street Church of Christ, 519 Connellsville St., Uniontown.

Country music will be presented Saturday at the Sagebrush Round-Up on Bunner Ridge near Fairmont, W.Va. Featured acts include Granny Blosser, Bill Murray & Friends and Due South.
There will not be an open stage this week. There is an admission charge. The music starts at 6 p.m. and continues until 10:30 or 11 p.m.
