Volunteers needed
The Power Plant Youth Center in Masontown is in need of volunteers (both youth and adults) to help with repairs and cleaning. Also needed are volunteers to help supervise the youth on Wednesday and Friday nights. The Youth Center is run by volunteers and has no paid staff.
If the community does not respond, the youth center may not open in September as scheduled.
The center provides a valuable service to the community by giving the children and youth a safe place to meet and participate in recreational activities. It would be a shame to lose this valuable community asset, a spokesman said.
Those interested in keeping it open by volunteering their help may call Barb Lewis at 724-583-2655.

It is time to register 3- to 5-year-olds for German-Masontown Library’s preschool story hour. Registration forms are in the library. Class size is limited to 12.
Story hour sessions will be held every other Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. beginning in October and continuing until May.
There is no charge for these sessions. Story hour teachers are Judy Bogozi and Donna Parish.
