Youth bowling
The Sons of Italy will start a youth bowling league in September. Registration will be held on Sept. 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Contact Mark Smith at 724-736-2695 or Gloria Kosport at 724-736-4712.
Blood drive set
A blood drive will be held Sept. 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Frazier High School gymnasium to help Gabby Muzina who was recently diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML).
A bake sale will also be held at this time. Anyone wishing to donate to the bake sale is asked to contact Kathie Uhar at 724-736-4367.
The 12-year-old is currently receiving chemotherapy treatments and numerous blood transfusions at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She is the daughter of Phil and Barb Muzina and sister to Logan, 7. A seventh-grade student at Frazier Middle School, she enjoys acting in the drama club, swimming, cheerleading, babysitting and hanging out with her family and friends.
The public is encouraged to donate blood to help replace the blood transfusions being used throughout her treatment. She could be a candidate for a bone marrow transplant and anyone donating blood at this drive may elect to become a member of the National Marrow Donor Registry by completing additional paperwork and submitting a mouth swab sample.
Donors are asked to schedule an appointment for Sept. 3 by calling Dee Dee Muzina at 724-736-4908 or 724-991-4017. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Approved forms of identifications are required.

Spaghetti dinner
The Lions Club will hold its annual spaghetti dinner on Sept. 7 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Sons of Italy. Take-outs will be available; bring your own containers. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children.
Cheerleaders win trophy
Congratulations to Frazier’s Middle School cheerleaders who won the Overall High Point Cheer Trophy at King Coal’s Cheerleading Competition on Aug. 19.
The winning cheerleaders include Giovanna Bitonti, Rachael Lonce, Amanda Pato, Shannon Cline, Gena Keebler, Amanda Murdock, Keana Bertocci, Alicia Mancuso, Krystal Flocker, Chelsea McCune and Holly Kelly.
Class of 1971

Free Tai Chi
Sue Daniels White Crane Tai Chi Chuan/Reiki Center will offer a free Tai Chi class to the public at Karolcik Park on Saturdays (weather permitting) at 9:30 a.m., starting Saturday. Clothing should be loose and easy to move in.
Library news
The Book Club will meet to discuss the book “March” by Geraldine Brooks on Monday at 7 p.m.
The Frazier Community Library will be closed in observance of Labor Day Saturday through Sept. 4. It will reopen Sept. 5.
The Frazier Community Library will begin its extended hours on Sept. 5 after the Labor Day weekend. The new schedule will be in effect for weekday hours. It is as follows: Monday-Thursday 2:50 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday hours remain at 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
