local Music and Reading-On-The-Mon will presented from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The free family entertainment will be held on the grounds of the historic Nemacolin Castle in Brownsville. Story time begins at 6 p.m. with a guest reader from the Herald-Standard, Amanda Clegg, followed by other readers to bring the story of Aladdin to life.
A book swap table will be featured. Girlz in Black Hats, one of the local country music bands in the area, will perform. Those attending are asked to bring a blanket and picnic basket.

Phantom Cruisers’ car show and swap meet will be held at the Fayette County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Car show registration will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
There will be a registration fee for each vehicle. Vendor spaces are available. Vendor set up will be held at 8 a.m. Sunday.
Dash plaques and goodie bags will be awarded to the first 100 vehicles. The event will feature a live broadcast by Pickle Radio 99.3 from 10 a.m. to noon, music by D.J. Arnie Amber, door prizes, a 50/50 drawing, Chinese auction, food by Hartsek Catering and a burnout contest. Trophies will be awarded to the top 60 vehicles plus 10 special trophies.
Included in the special trophies will be a 4-foot trophy awarded for the best of show and one for the largest car club. Winners will be chosen by participant vote.
Portions of the proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.

The Ice Plant Restaurant in Greensboro will host its 10th annual car show on Saturday. This is the restaurant’s 10th anniversary, so the theme for the show will be “Decades.” Registration will begin at noon and end at 2 p.m. with an entry fee. Each participant will receive a special goody bag, T-shirt and a dash plaque. The show is judged, and awards will be presented at about 4:30 p.m. The awards will consist of the top 50 vehicles, best of show car, best of show truck and several specialty trophies. Activities will include a 50/50 drawing, Chinese auction, door prizes and lots of food. Music throughout the show will be provided by D.J. Antonio. The Sight Unseen band will perform from 8 p.m. until midnight. The traditional fireworks display will begin at dusk. Call Lisa Miller at 724-943-4324.
