CALIFORNIA – Beginning May 11 and continuing through May 24, the public is invited to the CUP Gallery of Fine Art on the third floor of the Manderino Library to view the 2-D art of high school students from across Pennsylvania U.S. Rep. John Murtha’s district at the annual CUP Congressional High School 2-D Art Competition and Exhibition. This year, the CUP jurors are Dr. Thomas Kinsey, dean of graduate studies; professor Richard Miecznikowski, art and design professor; and Jim Bove, art and design professor.

The public is invited to attend.

The Gallery of Fine Art hours, which also are listed at www.cup.edu are 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday. The gallery is closed Friday.

Each year, the U.S. congressmen offer one high school student per U.S. district to participate in the annual Congressional HS Art Exhibition in Washington D.C.

The winner from each district will attend the opening in the nation’s capital.

This exhibition was made possible by the continued support from Murtha and his staff, The College of Liberal Arts, the Department of Art and Design, the CUP Student Activities Board, Professor Greg Harrison and Studio 224, and Dean Douglas Hoover and the staff of the Manderino Library at California University of Pennsylvania.
