Easter fun

Chaz Gibson

Fairchance

I had a blast with Easter. I went down my nans and had ham, potatoes, pineapples, deviled eggs, pickled eggs, and bread. And then we went to Grindstone to my grandmother’s house and hid eggs with money in them. We rode bikes and played foot ball. And there was all the treats and toys, lots of candy and video games.

Easter

Terry Grimm

Smithfield

I had a lot of stuff. I got chocolate, toys, and craft stuff. I went up my grandma’s house. She had Easter dinner, and she had an Easter egg hunt. Then we went up my other grandma’shouse for dinner, too. That day I was sick of chocolate.

About a simulation

Lauren Herring

Fairchance

We started a project about the days in the 1700s. It’s been fun because we were put in groups of three except for two people and one was me. Our teacher would give each group a question about the 1700s, and she said if we get it right, we get something called a shilling, but someone called them chillies. It was funny. Then, my partner and I earned nine schillings for getting questions right, but now we only have three shillings because we bought puzzle pieces for six shillings.

The simulation

Triston Hughes

Uniontown

On Monday April 3, we started a simulation. We wrote about people who lived in Williamsburg a long time ago. Our teacher read to us, then we did true and false questions and A, B, C, questions. And every time we got a question right, we earned a shilling. My team had 11 of them. The people that are on my team are Josh Remington and Logan Buterbaugh. Each team answered a lot of questions for a puzzle piece. We had two puzzle pieces and now we have three puzzle pieces. The first time we got a puzzle piece and some candy. Then we had to go do pages to earn puzzle pieces.

How hot it is in the summer

Justin Kisner

Fairchance

Since the weather has been getting warmer and warmer we have been going out side mostly every day. It has been getting hotter and hotter by each minute. Right now it is 73 degrees in our classroom, and even getting hotter. It is probably warmer in our class room than what it is outside.

I love the heat

Justin Remington

Uniontown

It’s starting to get hot now, and I’m getting outside more. Yesterday I found old boards in the backyard, and I built a bridge over this little creek, and so now I have a way to get my bike over the creek.

The thermometer is getting close to 80 degrees. I hope it starts to get 90 degrees this year because, I want to go swimming.

Hot days

Charles Shaffer III

Uniontown

Last week it started raining as usually it always rains. The week after it warmed up about 80 degrees out and it was hot.

It was sunny out and it was very hot out.

I couldn’t believe how hot I was. I thought it was only going to get 60 degrees out but it got up there. It was too hot for me and my grandma. I was hot but I took it. The sun was very bright out, too bright.

Kennywood

Michael Tait

Fairchance

Kennywood is filled with fun and excitement all at the same time. Every summer since 1899 Kennywood has made people have fun for over 107 years.I love all of the roller coasters at Kennywood. My favorite roller coaster is the ThunderBolt, built in 1968, formally the roller coaster called the Pippin, built in 1924, and taken out in 1967. Another favorite is the Jack Rabbit, which was built in 1920. The Racer is my least favorite. It was built in 1910. But there is only one thing wrong with Kennywood and that thing is there is barely any dark rides at all. The most memorable dark ride (that us kids/teens wouldn’t know about) was called Laff-in-the-dark. Built in 1930 and taken out in 1966. But there’s Laffin’ Sal. She laughs non-stop. She is located next to the train station, if you go to Kennywood this year.

This year I loved school

Elizabeth Klingensmith

Uniontown

This year I loved school. I really enjoyed learning new things. I also really enjoyed meeting new people. I really liked my teacher, Mrs. Hruby. At the beginning of the year my brother told me I would like Mrs. Hruby and he was right. I can’t wait for third grade.

My name is Emily

Emily Price

Hopwood

My name is Emily. I have a baby brother. I really like it in Pennsylvania. It has a lot of mountains. I came from Florida, and I just moved here. I like school because of specials. I like gym, art, computers. I like when we go to lunch because we eat good food and my teacher is very nice. School is a fun place, and it helps you learn.
