Bluegrass in the City slated for Oct. 14

Bluegrass in the City will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, in the VFW parking lot in downtown Uniontown. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside the VFW Post 47. Free admission will be provided.

The following entertainment will be offered:

– 1 to 2 p.m., Dave Dahl of Hopwood, square dance demonstration

– 2 to 3 p.m., Full Steam Ahead Band from the Pittsburgh area

– 3 to 4 p.m., Mid Life Crisis Band from Monroeville

– 4 to 5 p.m., Remnants, a dulcimer group

– 5 to 6 p.m., Mountain View Band from Waterford

– 6 to 7 p.m. Git-er-Dun Bluegrass Band from Connellsville.

John Trout of WYEP radio station 91.3 FM will serve as the emcee for the event. Trout is the bluegrass DJ from 8 p.m. to midnight every Sunday.

Food and beverages will be available from vendors. A pumpkin patch and farmer’s market will be held.

The Uniontown Downtown Business District Authority sponsors the event.
