Golf news

The Golf Guru, having taken a sabbatical from reporting the golf news in order to regroup and rest up for the coming attack on sandbagging, which is running rampant in both leagues, is obligated to report a great feat by one our locals. Bradley Baker, one of Perryopolis esteemed personas, while on the Linden Hall Golf Course, made a hole in one. In golf, aces are a rarity and are worthy of comment. On Aug. 11 at 9:30 a.m., Bradley stepped up to the fifth hole, it being 180 yards away, and with a mighty swing of his 5 iron, put the little white ball in the hole. Witnessing this terrific feat was the honorable and honest Bill Hill, whose veracity is not questioned. Mr. Baker is known to have accomplished this feat once before on the Thunder Ridge course with Phil Harris (not the singer) as a witness. It is a long-standing custom that the person accomplishing this feat buys a round of drinks. However, this was not done in this case, to Bill’s disappointment. Hmmm.
