Greater Uniontown Chorale to begin new season

1 min read

The Greater Uniontown Chorale is beginning a new season under its choral director Warren Shirer. The choral organization rehearses at the Third Presbyterian Church on Union Street off Morgantown Road in Uniontown.

Rehearsals are held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. New members as well as former members are invited to join.

The chorale is starting to rehearse for December Christmas concerts.

Last spring, they performed concerts in Uniontown and Scottdale, focusing on the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber with highlights from many Webber productions, such as “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Coat,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Evita” and “Whistle Down the Wind.”

This past summer, the chorale presented a program at Storey Square in downtown Uniontown.

The chorale performed along with the Scottdale Community Band, which is also directed by Shirer.

As a fund-raiser this fall, members of the chorale will be selling Entertainment Books.

Anyone who is interested in purchasing a book is asked to contact a chorale member or call 724-437-6400 for more information.
