Here are this week’s stories:
On vacation
Kaylee Franks
Fairchance
Every year my family and my friends go to the Outerbanks. Last year we got a five-story house with an elevator and a cabana house and lots more. Everyday we went out to the beach and we would take our boogie boards and play in the water. We would come in before sunset and eat dinner. My cousin made fried ice cream for dessert. Then on our last day we went shopping at five different stores and we had a good time. The end.
New puppy
Kaylee Franks
Fairchance
My aunt just got a new puppy named Nanna. She is so cute. She is black and wears a little red collar. She loves to play, but she will try to bite you. If you sit on the floor and play with her, she will jump up and snip you. She already bit me on the foot. But you can’t tell her no because she is so cute.
Fun at Idlewild
Kennedy Crossland
Uniontown
During the summer I went to Idlewild with some of my family. When we got there, we first walked through Storybook Forest. Then my mom let my sister, Jordan, and I walk around the park. We rode a couple of rides. Next, we went to the water park and stayed there most of the day. Later on we met up and went home. I had a great time.
Black Eyed Peas
Kelly Rates
McClellandtown
I went to the Black Eyed Peas concert with my sister. It was really cool. It was at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. They were there for the golf tournament and it was really crowded. We went up front, and I couldn’t see so we went in the back where I could see.
The Black Eyed Peas were late. They were supposed to start at 7 but didn’t start until 8:15 and they sang till about 9. I didn’t think it would be that much fun but I was wrong. There was a lot of traffic so we turned around and went on the back roads and we were there faster than we could have been waiting in traffic. It was backed all the way down the mountain. At the concert there was more than 1,000 people there. It took us 45 minutes to get down the mountain and home. It was slow for about 5-10 minutes and then we were moving about 50 miles per hour.
Disney World
Courtney Hitchcock
Smithfield
Last year I went to Disney World. It was so much fun! We also went to Universal Studios while we were there. I rode one roller coaster called Expedition Everest. It’s my favorite ride at Disney. One of the best foods I ate there was the pizza we ordered from the hotel. One day I got my hair braided at Universal. The hotel had a swimming pool so I got to swim a couple days. We stayed for five days. I didn’t want to leave. I’ll be going back this April. I can’t wait.
