Feb. 11, 2007 Spaghetti dinner
A spaghetti dinner will be held today at the Italian American Club in Masontown from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eat-in or take-out meals will be available. The public is invited to attend.
United Methodist Church
Masontown United Methodist Church will hold worship service today at 11 a.m. The Rev. Bob Lewis will be preaching to the adult class at 9:45 a.m. Hospitality, a time of food and fellowship, will follow the service at 12:15 p.m. in the church social hall.
The children’s education is called “Bible Club” and is held on Thursday afternoon from 4 to 6. It includes games, snacks, crafts and lessons and is open to the community. Youth group for young people in grades 6 to 12 is on Sunday night at 7 p.m.
On Tuesdays, Lewis will be teaching a Bible study on the book of Psalms. It is a 13-week study examining the different kinds of Psalms in the Bible. There is a cost of the study book and it is open to the community.

Meeting change
The Friends of the German-Masontown Library will meet this month on Tuesday at noon. Co-presidents Mary Ann Fell and Mary Anne Hritz invite you to attend the meeting. Light refreshments will follow the meeting. Valentine bingo will follow the meeting. Bring a $1 item to serve as a prize for bingo winners.
Remember to renew membership to the Friends by paying the 2007 dues. Annual dues are $3 and may be paid at the library, at the next Friends meeting or by mailing dues to treasurer Anita Nolle, 207 W. Cross Ave., Masontown, Pa., 15461.
U.S. Steel Pensioners
The United States Steel Pensioners will meet at the Golden Corral Restaurant in Uniontown on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Anyone needing more information may call Don Keener Sr. or Chip Yates.
Perogie orders
Orders are now being taken at St. Mary’s Church in Leckrone for perogies.
Anyone can place an order by calling the parish hall at 724-737-6788 or Mary Ann at 724-583-2580.
The potato/cheese or sauerkraut perogies are $4 per dozen and prune perogies are $5 per dozen.
Cash bash
The Albert Gallatin Band Boosters and the McClellandtown Volunteer Fire Department will hold a cash bash on March 3 at the McClellandtown Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall.
Tickets may be purchased from members of the band boosters or the fire department for $20 each.
Ham bingo
The Pal’s Club Ladies Auxiliary will hold a ham bingo on March 4 beginning at 2 p.m. in the Pal’s Social Hall.
Admission is $3 for the first card and extra cards are 50 cents. The bingo is open to the public.
Little Knights
Little Knights Baseball League in Masontown will hold sign-ups for baseball later this spring for all age groups (ages 5-18). This will be the 57th consecutive season providing Little League Baseball for area youth. T-ball and little league baseball signu-ps are free.
Sign-ups will be held on March 1 and 2, and on March 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Masontown Elementary School cafeteria. Players are accepted from all areas including Masontown, Smithfield, Fairchance, McClellandtown, Leckrone, Adah, Hibbs, Point Marion, Footedale, New Salem, Ronco and Uniontown.
The league provides each player with a uniform shirt and hat prior to the beginning of the season. There is also a league-sponsored picnic at the close of the season, free to all players and their families.
