Flatwoods to hold open auditions for musical revue
FLATWOODS – Flatwoods Productions will hold open auditions for a musical revue at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Curfew Grange, Flatwoods. The building is located at the corner of Buena Vista Road and Route 201 south. The Curfew Grange is located across from the cemetery.
Needed are men and women ages 14 through 70 to perform and sing various songs from early Broadway through some of today’s newest hits.
Shows that may be included in the revue include: “Wicked,” “Rent,” “Hairspray,” “Spamalot,” “The Producers,” “Cats,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Chicago,” “Sweet Charity” and “High School Musical” among others.
The show also will feature a sampling of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Loewe, and Kander and Ebb.
Needed also are dancers for several sections of the show, especially scenes from “Chicago” and “Charity”
Also needed are children (boys and girls) ages 8 through 14 to perform in a children’s section of the show.
The children will sing such hits as “Tomorrow” and “Hard Knock Life” from “Annie”; “Where is Love?” and “Consider Yourself” from “Oliver;” several songs from “The Sound of Music” and “The King and I.”
Those auditioning should bring sheet music for a song to sing.
They also should be prepared to do a short dance audition.
All interested parties will be cast in some capacity.
Newcomers and fresh young faces are encouraged to attend the auditions.
Also needed are adults to work backstage on this production.
