local The Carmichaels Area Drama Club will host its annual dinner theater for the upcoming performance of the musical “Once Upon a Mattress” at 7 p.m. today and Saturday in the Stan Ferek III Auditorium. A dinner theater will be held at 5:30 p.m. today in the high school cafeteria. There is a cost, which includes a Medieval-style dinner catered by The Back Bay Restaurant from Morgantown, W.Va., and admission to the 7 p.m. performance of “Once Upon A Mattress.” Dinner theater tickets are on sale. Country music will be presented Saturday at the Sagebrush Round-Up on Bunner Ridge near Fairmont, W.Va. An open stage will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. with The Round-Up Band. The regular show starts at 7 p.m. with The Round-Up Band, Floyd Cowger, Granny & Bill Murray & Friends, 23 Special and Where 2 or 3 R. There is an admission charge. Children under 12 accompanied by an adult will be admitted free. The Sagebrush Round-Up is located on Bunner Ridge near Fairmont, W.Va., six miles east of Interstate 79 at Exit 139. Happy Ending will perform at 9:30 p.m. today at Al’s Pub on Route 119 near the Fayette County Fairgrounds.Area residents will have a variety of art classes to choose from starting in late February. Artist and art educator Patrick Daugherty will be offering two painting classes and a drawing class through the Continuing Education Department at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus. Courses include a Friday afternoon six-week painting course, starting today; and a Saturday afternoon six-week drawing course, starting Saturday. Each class period is three hours. St. Aloysius Church on Ranch Road, Dunbar, will hold its annual Mardi Gras 2007 from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The usual ethnic foods will be served, plus a bake sale and games, etc. The public is invited. The Rev. J. Edward McCullough is church pastor. Dennis Martin is chairman.
