Halvonik, treasurer. The authority will hold its monthly meetings on the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Borough Council Room, Borough Building. All residents are encouraged to attend these monthly meetings. The authority is seeking resident input for projects planned this year, including renovations to the Old State Bank Building and the feasibility of setting up a leaf collection and composting program.

Class of 1965

Ruthie Hawker Shields, Jim Newmeyer and Pam Komacko Anderson are still trying to locate members of the class of 1965 so that they can have a complete updated list of addresses for the next reunion to be held in 2010. If you have a son, daughter or other relative who graduated from Frazier in 1965, or if you have a relative who was in the class but didn’t graduate from Frazier, the committee is interested in collecting their address. Call or e-mail Ruthie with names and addresses of the class of 1965.

Someone suggested that the class hold a 60th birthday picnic this summer since the members of the class turn 60 years old this year. If anyone is interested in helping with this project, contact Ruthie and she will put you in touch with the right people.

Travel Club

The Perryopolis Travel Club is accepting new members. The meetings are the first Friday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Sons of Italy. If you like to travel and would like to join or obtain further information, please call Ed Pauley at 724-326-4579.

Aphorisms

Speaking of Jim Newmeyer, he spends a lot of time Web crawling and sends us the funniest jokes. Aphorisms are short neatly expressed general truths, such as “waste not, want not.” Here are a few more Jim collected:

– 99 percent of used car salesmen give the rest a bad name.

– Deja Moo: The feeling that you’ve heard this bull before.

– The two most common elements in the universe are hydrogen and stupidity.

– Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.

– If at first you don’t succeed, skydiving is not for you.

– Always remember to pillage before you burn.
