Mysteries are fun

Brittani Kiger

Mysteries are very fun! My favorite mystery book series is Nancy Drew. There are also computer mystery games for Nancy Drew. The books are very interesting to read. The games are very fun, too. I like the books better, though. Another series that I like is The Hardy Boys. They are usually in Nancy Drew’s computer games, but not all of them. I mainly just love reading! I also read Goosebumps.

Winter fun

The thing I like best about winter is the snow. I like the snow because it is very beautiful. It really reminds me of a white room or a bed with a blanket and pillow. It kind of reminds me of a cloud.

My favorite things to do are making snowmen. I like to make snowmen because it symbolizes many things. The two main thing it symbolizes to me are it’s winter time, and it decorates the yard. I have five people living in our house, and one year we made five snowmen representing the family. Building snowmen is really fun and easy. The hard part about it is lifting the giant snowballs on top of each other. I love to make snowmen. That is the best part of winter to me. Snow is awesome!

My trip to Disney World

Chase Bowen

New Salem

We left my house on Tuesday night, it was snowing in New Salem. My dad said for me to take my snow boots and winter coat. We were still on the snowy roads of West Virginia when I went to sleep at 8 p.m. When I woke up we were in Virginia. The roads were just slushy, not snowy, Wednesday morning we reached North Carolina, I fell asleep again. When we stopped to stretch our legs. I did not need my winter coat. We continued our drive straight through South Carolina, with our windows open. When we got to the Georgia Welcome Station, I didn’t even need a jacket. My Aunt Michelle and I collected very big pine cones outside. There were lots of people in shorts and t-shirts. Some people were walking their dogs and getting water for them. We were all so happy because Florida was next and it was such warm weather.

We stayed at a cool hotel with a pool and a game room. Played a lot of games with my mom. I won lots of tickets to earn some toy frogs. My dad took me swimming and then mommy swam too. We swam at nighttime. I met two kids from Canada. We played together in the pool.

Every morning we woke up early, around seven to get dressed. We went to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM, and Animal Kingdom. My favorite was the Magic Kingdom because they had many different kinds of rocks. I bought a whole bag full. I also got a Goofy hat. Stitch signed my hat at MGM. I saw him with Lilo at Animal Kingdom.

That’s where me and my dad found the dinosaur bone yard. I dug and dug until I found a leg and a knee bone. We had so much fun we are already thinking about our next trip to Disney World when I’m able to fly on an air plane.

The reason I like winter is because I get to play with my family and have snowball fights.

Then, I get to go inside my house and have some hot chocolate. Winter days are fun and enjoyable. This is why I like winter.
