Steel Witness to perform at Grindstone revival
The American Country Revival will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 18, in the Grindstone Firemen’s Social Hall. Steel Witness, one of the area’s best gospel bands headed by the Rev. Mitch Wall will perform. The band was formed in 2002 and has played throughout the local area.
“We have recently released our first album titled ‘Repent,'” Wall said.
Various artists have recorded some of Wall’s songs in Nashville. He combined the modern country sound with his gospel music.
Steel Witness band members are Karl Nutt playing the pedal steel guitar, J.C. Muenzer on lead guitar and vocals, Lee Vuckovich on drums, Tim Baker on bass and vocals and Wall on guitar and lead vocals.
Also performing will be singer/songwriter Cathy Stewart who is a recording artist from West Newton. She is currently recording with Dave Hanner of the Corbin/Hanner Band. She recently released a new single.
“I wrote my first song, that I dedicated to my mother, when I was 15 years old,” Wall said.
With 30 years of experience, Wall has played country music in bars and clubs around the Pittsburgh area.
Then one day in 1993, he said he attended a Billy Graham Crusade and his “life was drastically changed when he accepted Jesus Christ as his lord and savior.”
In 1999, Wall became pastor at the Morning Star Baptist Church, which is now located in Newell. He pastors the church while continuing his musical evangelism ministry.
His goal is to help build churches and Christian ministries through his musical evangelism.
