‘Bunny Trolley’ chugs along for Easter
WASHINGTON – It’s time for the annual “Bunny Trolley” event at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum. The bunny has treat bags for all children and will greet museum visitors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 31; Friday, April 6; and Saturday, April 7.
The museum offers the following activities:
– Taking a four-mile ride on an antique trolley with the bunny.
– Enjoying the museum’s exhibits and trolley era video.
– Shopping in the museum store.
– Having pictures taken with the bunny.
– Visiting with author Michelyn Giovenco who wrote the children’s book “The Little Trolley That Went Downtown” on Saturday, March 31.
Trolley rides are offered every 30 minutes. The last ride is at 4:30 p.m. There is an admission fee for adults, seniors and children ages 3 to 15.
Take Interstate 79 to Exit 41, Race Track Road, or take Route 19 to Race Track Road and then follow the signs approximately three miles to the museum.
Pennsylvania Trolley Museum, with more than 600 members and 150 active volunteers, opened to the public in 1963 in order to communicate the story of Pennsylvania’s Trolley Era.
The museum is open to the public from March through December on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday and every day during the summer. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Group tours and education tours also are available at other times, by appointment only. Special events are run throughout the year and birthday/all occasion parties are available.
