Uniontown to kick off Storey Square series on June 4
The Uniontown Downtown Business District Authority announces its upcoming events. The Storey Square Summer Concert Series will kick off the season from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 4, featuring Harold Betters.
Gary Gearing of Fayette Holdings will sponsor the concert. Storey Square is located on Main Street next to the State Theatre Center for the Arts on Main Street.
These concerts continue every Monday during the months of June, July and August. There is a free concert available to the public, and refreshments are available. Those attending are asked to bring lawn chairs.
June 11 will feature Slim Chance sponsored by Centra Bank with the Belmont Inn as the restaurant. June 18 feature the fabulous Softwinds “doo-wop group” sponsored by Laurel Business Institute with Angelina’s restaurant. On June 25, Quiet Storm appears with Centra Bank sponsoring the event. The restaurant is The Lardin House.
July 2 features the VFW Post 47 Band with Centra Bank as the sponsor and Caileigh’s Restaurant. On July 9, Roger Humpheys will be featured with the Lardin House the restaurant of choice.
Spoonchatter will play on July 16. The concert is featured by Centra Bank, with 30 East Main serving food.
On July 23, Polish Six Pack will play with 30 East Main serving the food. July 30 features the Sammy Bill Orchestra with World Importing serving the food.
The popular band SNAP will play on Aug. 6, with Angelina’s the restaurant of choice. On Aug. 13, Bobby Reed with Susan Lee will perform with World Importing serving the food. Sean Jones will perform on Aug. 20 with DiMaio Sisters serving the food.
The final performance will be Harold Betters sponsored by the Eberly Foundation with Caileigh’s the restaurant of choice.
The Downtown Business District Authority is searching for additional sponsorships. If anyone is interested in sponsoring one of the concerts, call Judy Vrabel at the Downtown Business District Authority at 724-430-2926.
On Saturday, May 19, in conjunction with National Pike Days, a car show will be held on Main Street from noon to 4 p.m.
Car registration begins at 11:30 a.m., and there is a registration fee. Dash plaques will be given out to the first 50 cars.
The Laurel Valley Corvette Car Club will sponsor a car show on Main Street from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 7.
The fourth Arts in the City event is planned for Saturday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Main Street in Uniontown.
Last year, there were 65 artists and craftsmen featured with strolling musicians, food and entertainment. Anyone who is interested in participating in the event is asked to call 724-430-2926.
Light-Up Night is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 29.
