Rock band Payl headlines show, enters competitions
Local rock band Payl will headline “The Fall of August” event hosted by Stipfish Productions on Saturday at Rich Farms, located off Route 857 near Smithfield. The doors will open at noon followed by the show from 1 p.m. to midnight.
“The Fall of August” is a rock show for all ages, featuring 13 bands. Canthus and A Waking Nightmare also will play.
StipFish Productions was formed by Homer Pitts, also known as Stip Remoh, former singer of Bow Down, in the hope of changing the music scene in the area. There is a cost for tickets.
Payl also will play on Friday at the Hard Rock Cafe in Pittsburgh. There is a cover charge.
Payl has entered a battle of the bands competition hosted by Gorilla Productions that will take place on Aug. 31 at the Saddle Ridge in Pittsburgh.
The band also has entered a “Make-Rock History” competition, which includes a cash prize of $25,000, music equipment, a slot to play with Motley Crue and a record deal. Go to Payl’s Myspace site to vote.
