The second program of the Friday Noontime Recital Series at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will take place on Friday, Feb. 15, with Charles Ludwick II as the featured organist. The program will begin at noon in the church sanctuary. Lunch will be served in the social hall at 12:30.

Charles Ludwick II is currently organist at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarksburg, W.Va., where he has served in that capacity since his hiring in August 2006.

He is a senior organ performance and music education major at West Virginia University and studies organ with William Haller.

During his time as a student at West Virginia University, Ludwick has served as accompanist for the University Choir on numerous occasions. He also is a member of the American Guild of Organists.

Ludwick is also active as a choral singer and freelance accompanist. Specific areas of interest in music include early and modern pipe organ literature, organ building, Gregorian chant, revitalization of traditional church music and music-teaching techniques.

In his free time, Ludwick enjoys spending time with his family and friends, reading, following Mountaineer sports, baseball and Formula-One racing.

Ludwick’s Feb. 15 recital will include works by J. S. Bach, Gerald Near, Emma Lou Diemer and Jehan Alain.

A free-will offering will be accepted at the recital. Lunch will be available for a donation of five dollars, to benefit the chapel renovation project. The public is invited to this and future recitals each Friday during Lent.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is at 71 N. Gallatin Ave. in Uniontown.
