Flatwoods to present murder mystery ‘Clue’
FLATWOODS – Flatwoods Productions has announced the murder mystery “Clue” for audiences to try to solve during the cold winter month of January. The show will take place at the Curfew Grange, located at the corner of Route 201 South and Buena Vista Road (across from the cemetery). It will be presented at 7 p.m. each day and last approximately two and a half hours. The show includes dinner served between sections of the murder mystery.

There are rates for groups and may be obtained by calling. Dinner will feature a choice of either roast beef or stuffed chicken breast as the entr?e. Also included is soup, salad, bread and butter, potato, vegetable, dessert, and coffee, tea or soda. In January, the murder mystery will be everyone’s favorite the Parker Brothers game “Clue.”
But in this case, the show is done with an oversized set of playing cards and a larger than life playing board. All of the favorite characters and weapons come alive and step out of the box to play the game with the audience. There are more than 215 possible combinations so audiences should have a great time solving who did in, in what room and with what weapon. Play dates are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Playing the role of Mr. Boddy will be Rob Ross of Weirton, W.Va. Ross has been seen in many shows in the greater Pittsburgh area and designs all scenery for Flatwoods Productions. Most recently he played the role of Coach Bolton in “High School Musical.”
Mr. Green is being played by Scott Watson of Vanderbilt. Watson has appeared in almost every show done at the grange in the past six years. Some of his favorite roles have included Huck Finn, Dr. Einstein, Chaz Looney, and upcoming as Snoopy.
Dave McVicker of Monongahela is playing Colonel Mustard. McVicker is one of the core group and has appeared in some capacity in every show in the past twelve months. Some of his favorite roles include: Teddy in “Arsenic,” Professor Baher in “Little Women,” and Neville in “Secret Garden.”
Professor Plum will be played by Bill Berger of Monongahela. Berger has been in several shows and murder mysteries and is usually found playing bass in the pit for many local shows. Nancy Flinn of Donora will be playing the detective that helps our players figure out who dun nit. She has also been seen as Mrs. Anna, several nuns in “Nunsense” and “The Sound of Music” or working lights for a show.
Katie Grahek of Brownsville will be playing Miss Scarlett. Most recently, she played Sharpay in “High School Musical” with Flatwoods and will be playing the role of Anita in Brownsville High School’s production of “West Side Story” later in March. Laurie Watson of Brownsville will handle the role of Mrs. Peacock. Most recently, she was mother superior in “Nuncrackers” at Flatwoods. Watson also was in a production of “Quilters” this past fall at Washington Community Theater. And finally, Tori Flinn of Monongahela will play Mrs. White. She is currently attending college in New Jersey but is home for winter break and is thrilled to be involved in a production again.
