FLATWOODS – Flatwoods Productions will present Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap” today through Sunday. Performances will be held at the Curfew Grange building, located off Route 201 south and Buena Vista road (across from the cemetery). Curtain times will be 8 p.m. today and Saturday, with a matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday. Ticket are available. For reservations, call 724-366-7923.

Dinner will be available before each performance with advance reservations of a day. This time, however, in addition to the usual choices of stuffed chicken breast or roast beef the meal will be presented as a “high tea” in keeping with this British murder mystery.

In addition to the regular items offered – soup, salad, entr?e, mashed potatoes, vegetable, beverage and dessert – there will also be scones (English biscuits) and cornbread and various cakes and cookies for dessert.

And, of course, the option of a hot pot of tea will be offered. Iced tea also will be available if the weather is extremely warm. Dinner requires a reservation.

The story is about a young couple, Mollie and Giles Ralston, who have started up a new hotel in the converted Monkswell Manor. They are snowed in together with four guests and an additional traveller, who ran his car into a snowdrift. Detective Sgt. Trotter arrives on skis to inform the group that he believes a murderer is on his way to the hotel, following the death of Miss Maureen Lyon in London

When one of the guests, Mrs. Boyle, is killed. They realize that the murderer is already there. The suspicion falls first on Christopher Wren, an erratic young man who fits the description of the supposed murderer. However, it quickly transpires that the killer could be any one of the guests or even the hosts themselves.

By tradition, at the end of each performance, audiences are asked not to reveal the identity of the killer to anyone outside the theater to ensure that the end of the play isn’t spoiled for future audiences.

The cast includes: Brian Shaffer of Hopwood as Giles Ralstan; Melanie Paglia of Pittsburgh as Mollie Ralstan; Wanda Wokulich as Mrs. Boyle; Mych “M.J.” Jarrod of Pittsburgh as Christopher Wren; Rob Ross of Weirton as Sgt. Trotter; Ernest Watson of Brownsville as Major Metcalf; Dave McVicker of Monongahela as Mr. Paravicini; and Michelle Rivas as Miss Casewell. Tickets are available at the door or by calling 724-366-7923.
