local The Greater Uniontown Chorale will present its spring performance of “Cinemagic” at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Laurel Highlands Middle School Auditorium. The performers will charm the audience with excerpts of many songs from a variety of movies ranging from 1930s to the present – from Disney favorites like “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin” and “The Little Mermaid;” to “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban” to “Lord of the Rings: the Return of the King;” from “Flashdance” to “Footloose” to “Titanic” and many more. And for those who loved the romance of the Hollywood musicals of the 1930s and ’40s, a multitude of tunes will strike nostalgic chords of memories of the good old days like “Thanks for the Memory,” “That’s Entertainment,” “Isn’t it Romantic” and many other old favorites. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.The Masontown Volunteer Fire Department will hold its eighth annual car and truck show on Sunday. Registration will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. There is a registration fee for each vehicle entered in the show. The first 150 to register will receive a dash plaque and a goodie bag. Tickets also will be given for a chance to win door prizes. The show will be judged. Food will be available at reasonable prices. One of the largest Chinese auctions in the area will be featured. There will be a variety of activities for the kids, starting with goodie bags for the first 35 registered. They also will be given a door prize ticket. The event will feature a coloring contest, a model car contest, and temporary tattooing will be offered for children. All proceeds raised will benefit the Masontown Volunteer Fire Department. The Grindstone Fire Department will hold its first annual hog roast featuring an oldies D.J. on Saturday and Sunday on the fire department grounds. The event is free. Donations will be accepted. A softball tournament also will be featured both days. The 103.9 WLSW Oldies D.J. Johnny O. and the first diva of doo wop Cindy will spin the oldies from 2 to 7 p.m. both days. The event will be used to benefit the playground/ballfield area the fire department provides for use to the public. Those attending are asked to bring a lawnchair.

Larry Howard will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Chapel of Fredericktown. Howard is currently president of Larry Howard Ministries Inc. and Omega Arts Inc., which is a non-profit organization dedicated to reached out to people through the arts and is house in a state of the art music and video facility in Macon, Ga.
Middletown Country Music Show Line-Up, located on Route 73 across from the Middletown Mall in Fairmont, W.Va., tonight will feature Leo McMillon, Sonny Compton, Shirley Snyder and Your Request. Dinner will be served at 4 p.m. followed by the show at 6 p.m. Call 304-265-4938.
