local Flatwoods Productions has announced auditions for its summer shows. They will be held on Sunday at the Curfew Grange in Flatwoods, beginning at 2 p.m.
The Grange is located on Route 201 south and Buena Vista Road, across from the cemetery. Shows being cast include “Footloose” and “The Music Man.”
Needed are men, women, teenagers and children ages 7 and older for many roles in these show.
Those auditioning are asked to bring a song to sing. A pianist will be provided. There will be a dance audition and readings from the script. Those auditioning may be in one of all three shows.
The company is looking for people to work backstage and help as ushers and concession workers during the summer. Everyone interested will be cast or included in some capacity either on or backstage.

An opening reception for artist’s awards will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday. The hours for the exhibit are noon to 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and noon to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.Local rock band Happy Ending will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday at the Eagles Nest, located above Sam’s Restaurant on Morgantown Street, Uniontown.A golf scramble and party will be held on Saturday to benefit the State Theatre Center for the Arts on East Main Street in Uniontown. The golf scramble will take place at noon followed by a party on Main Street in front of the State Theatre at 5:30 p.m. There is a cost for individuals and foursomes for the golf scramble. WTAE’s Andrew Stockey and Uniontown Mayor Ed Fike will serve as emcees at the party. Picnic food, live music, cash bar, a 50/50 and a silent auction will be held.

Corvettes and Jaguars at Linden Hall, the 15th annual participant-judged show, will be held on the grounds of Linden Hall Resort in Dawson on Sunday.
Show registration will be held between 10 a.m. and noon.
A registration fee will be collected at the gate for all show cars.
Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 100 cars registered.
Awards will be presented to 40 “best of the decade” winners.
A salute to limited-edition models of Corvettes and Jaguars will be the show theme.
Food and drink will be available at Linden Hall. Fayette Friends of Animals is asking for Purina puppy and kitten food donations at the event.
Show sponsors are the Laurel Valley Corvette Club of Uniontown and the Jaguar Club of Pittsburgh.
The Uniontown Church of the Brethren, 20 Robinson St., Uniontown, will hold a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
There will be hot dogs, doughnuts and drinks for sale. Proceeds will benefit Camp Harmony, the church camp. An assortment of items will be available.
Parking is available behind the church.

A sports card and memorabilia show will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Uniontown Holiday Inn. Major Harris, former West Virginia University quarterback and 2008 nominee for the College Football Hall of Fame, will sign autographs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Middletown Country Music Show line up for tonight will be Tom Goldsmith, John and Ann Coberly and Last Resort. Dinner will be served at 4 p.m. followed by the show at 6 p.m. The venue is located two miles across from the Middletown Mall on Route 73 at the community building.

Sagebrush Round-Up on Bunner Ridge near Fairmont, W.Va., six miles east of Interstate 79 at Exit 139 will present its Bluegrass Weekend tonight and Saturday.
Featured acts tonight will include J.C. & The Boys, Mt. State Bluegrass Band, Harmon Creek Flatpickers and Norm Zack & The Rails of Bluegrass.
Playing on Saturday will be Glorybound, Steven Family, Matheny Family and Highland Grass.
