?Well the taxes have been paid, and I’m sure you are all broke now. So let’s look at some things to do that won’t cost you or me a lot of money.
Easter egg hunt — A friend of mine texted me the other night and said she was going to have an Easter egg hunt next weekend. Now, while I don’t have children, practically every person I know does, so a lot of activities I do with my friends include children. And undoubtedly, everyone will have a great time. To keep it simple, you can fill the eggs with some candy and a little bit of money. Have a few pizzas, add a few laughs, and you have an inexpensive Saturday afternoon.
Have a spring cookout — Dust off the grill and have a small, pre-summer cookout. All you need is some burgers, hot dogs, condiments, potato salad and grilled veggies. See if your friends want to bring a covered dish or small dessert.
Throw in a few beers, cocktails or sweet tea and you have a Sunday afternoon get-together. You needed an excuse to get the deck furniture out, right?
Feel free to let me know how you like to enjoy your spring weekends. I would love to hear from you. Email me at lgoodwinscott@heraldstandard.com.
