Ss. Cyril and Methodius hosts Divine Mercy devotions
Ss. Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church, 50 N. Morgantown St. in Fairchance, will host devotions to the Divine Mercy of Christ on Divine Mercy Sunday.
The day will begin with confessions from 2 to 3?p.m., followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with quiet adoration.
The Rev. Jacques Daley, O.S.B., will give a homily at 3:20?p.m. on the subject of Divine Mercy and its apostles: St. Faustina, Pope John Paul II, Edith Stein and the Rev. Michael Sopocko.
Daley is originally from Detroit and is now a monk at St. Vincent Archabbey in Latrobe. He provides service to the partner parishes of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Fairchance and St. Hubert in Point Marion every week.
The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be sung at 3:50?p.m., followed by Benediction.
Ss. Cyril and Methodius has designated a chapel area to the Divine Mercy of Christ and this will also be blessed and dedicated at the the end of program.
Light refreshments will be served in the parish hall after devotions. Divine Mercy articles will be available for purchase during the social.
