Lori’s look
I not only got to enjoy the Fayette County Fair once this week, but two times. And I have to say as much as Fayette County gets a bad rap, there is nothing better for me than our local fair.
The carnival rides, food, exhibits and outdoor arena events are the things that give our little neck of the woods its character and charm. And I know you all have some type of great memories from the fair.
I can remember every year when my mom and dad would take me to the fair, right when you pass Laurel Mall, the double yellow Ferris wheel that was a staple for many years would appear on the horizon. That was when you knew that you were almost there and the fun would begin.
Then, in high school, the fair was when we would work in the outdoor arena, selling popcorn and pop for the Uniontown Band boosters to raise money. And while the yellow Ferris wheel has been replaced, the new one is there, as well as the band selling goodies, and the fun memories resurface.
