Waynesburg church hosts family conference
Greene Community Church, located at 653 E. High St., Waynesburg will host the Save the Family renewal conference Sunday through Wednesday.
The conference begins at 10 a.m. Sunday, followed by sessions at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Each session will include a Family Room Conversation, similar to a round-table discussion. They will cover topics, such as “What’s family worship,” “How do you promote family unit,” “What is the importance of the family meal table,” “Technology? What to do with it,” “Courting? What on earth is that,” and “Isn’t rebellion during the teen years simply a part of growing up?”
“The family is in danger, all right,” said the Rev. David Crowe, pastor. “And we don’t have to look very far to see the results. Unfortunately, for most of us, the reality is as real as our living room conversations.”
According to Crowe, schedules are chaotic, family meals around the dinner table are almost unheard of, disrespectful attitudes seem to be the norm, anger rules and parents are at odds over discipline.
“And yet, that’s not the way God intended. God’s design for the family si far from the list above. His plan is good,” said Crowe. “His plan is best. And, looking to him, there’s great hope for our families.”
There is a charge for the conference. More information is available at www.greenecommunitychurch.org or www.savethefamilyconference.com.
