Carmichaels church plans healthcare seminar
St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Carmichaels will hold its fifth annual Healthcare Seminar beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday.
The schedule of events follows:
7 a.m. — Divine Liturgy followed by Blessing of Kolach and Koljivo.
8:30 a.m. — Registration.
9 to 10 a.m. — Linda Chambers, J.D, attorney in private practice and assistant district attorney, who will speak on healthcare impact from a criminal justice perspective.
10 to 11 a.m. — Deborah Migyanko, MSW, school social worker, will speak on the impact of families served.
11 a.m. to noon – Mark Opacic, M.A., director of Standards and Accreditation, Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, will speak on experiences with parolees and their victims.
Lunch will be held from noon to 12:30 p.m.
1 to 2 p.m. — Mitzie Hunchuck, CRNP, parish nurse practitioner, will speak about treating alcohol and drug abusers.
2 to 3 p.m. — The Rev. Rodney Torbic, parish priest, St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, retired, and a hearing examiner of the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, will speak on alcohol and drug Abuse from the religious perspective.
3 to 4 p.m. — Summarization and closing discussion and awarding of certificates
4 p.m. — Vespers.
