The Beesontown Singers and Uniontown Clergy Association will join forces on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. when they host a memorial service commemorating the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. This special service of music and reflection, hosted by St. Peter’s Anglican Church of Uniontown, will honor the thousands of people who lost their lives that  September morning 10 years ago. The memorial service is open to all who wish to attend.

Actors and Artists of Fayette County will be presenting the comedy “Dixie Swim Club” Sept. 8 -11 at the Geyer Performing Arts Center in Scottdale.

The 5th annual Ohiopyle Photography Contest will be accepting submissions until Aug. 31. The still images will be put on display at the Music In The Mountains Festival, Sept. 3-4 and the public will be able to vote for their favorite. Final photography submissions will be viewed and judged by the public, park staff and members of the Friends of Ohiopyle. Prizes will be awarded for the top submissions in each category. Twelve photos will be chosen to appear in the Friends of Ohiopyle 2012 calendar. Entry forms and details are available at the park office, 724-329-8594 or at friendsofohiopyle.info.

The Nathanael Greene Historic Foundation’s sixth annual “Art Blast on the Mon” will be held Sept. 3 from 10?a.m. to 5?p.m. and Sept. 4 from noon to 4?p.m. at Downtown Greensboro Riverfront, Greensboro. The 6th annual “Frontier Dinner” will be held on Aug. 26 at the Christian Klay Winery, just off the Historic National Road in Chalk Hill. Dinner tickets are $65 person and must be purchased in advance. For more information or to purchase tickets, call the NRHC office at 724-437-9877.

The New Salem Presbyterian Church will sponsor its 12th annual Presby Peach Fest from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 27. Tickets will be available at the door for either a pork or ham barbecue meal or hot dog meal, including three sides, drink and the choice of peach dessert with ice cream. Bring a non-perishable food item for the food pantry and receive an extra door prize ticket. Door prizes will be drawn every 30 minutes. A bake sale will be held in front of the church during Peach Fest hours. The church is located at 27 South Mill St., New Salem. Proceeds will benefit local church mission projects. The 40th annual “Old Fashion Car Show” and Hog Roast, sponsored by the McClellandtown Volunteer Fire Co. and the Mt.
