Sept. 11 memorial service scheduled

1 min read

The Beesontown Singers and Uniontown Clergy Association will join forces at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, when they host a memorial service commemorating the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon and Flight 93 in Shanksville, Somerset County.

This special service of music and reflection, hosted by St. Peter’s Anglican Church of Uniontown, will honor the thousands of innocents who lost their lives that fateful September morning 10 years ago.

For the occasion, the Beesontown Singers will perform Ron Kean’s “American Mass,” merging American hymns and spirituals with traditional choral liturgy. Under the direction of William Dreucci, the Singers will be assisted by a soprano soloist and instrumental ensemble and accompanied on keyboard by Jim Hutchinson.

The pastor of St. Peter’s Anglican is the Rev. John Cruikshank. The church is at 60 Morgantown St. and is accessible to those with physical disabilities. The memorial service is open to all who wish to attend.
