Lori’s look

By Lori Goodwin Scottdigital Media Content Convergence Editor 2 min read

I saw tornadoes in North Carolina last week, they’re bracing for a hurricane right where we stayed, and we felt the trembles of an earthquake in Uniontown this week. I’m beginning to think I have a little bit of bad luck following me. Hopefully, it’s all just a coincidence.

Well, it’s nearing the end of August, and for a lot of you out there it’s back to school time.

Make sure you check out the Heraldstandard.com website for local bus schedules in our Back to School section on the Everyday & You — Education page. This Sunday we also will be featuring the lunch menus and on Monday you can start submitting your first day of school pics for our online Back to School gallery.

Now that you are in the school frame of mind it’s a good time to mention that this year on the Heraldstandard.com website we are going to be doing something different with our local football highlights and stories. Look for our special 2011 Football section on the website for weekly coverage of area high school football teams as well as photos and videos.

Additionally, with the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks approaching, we’ll have articles related to the Sept. 11 attacks featured on the website throughout that week as well as anniversary coverage on Saturday and Sunday. And, if you ever get a chance make sure to check out the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville. It wasn’t finished when I was there last, but should be now. It’s very moving and quite a tribute to those that lost their lives that day.

As always, if you have any thoughts, questions or concerns about the Heraldstandard.com website, please email me at lgoodwinscott@heraldstandard.com.
