Sisters of St. Basil announce retreat schedule
The Sisters of St. Basil the Great have announced the 2011-12 schedule of programs to be presented at the Mount St. Macrina House of Prayer in Uniontown.
The topics were carefully selected to meet the spiritual needs of people in today’s difficult times.
“We welcome everyone to register and experience any of our programs. Make time for yourself and join us in an opportunity of spiritual growth and personal reflection in an atmosphere of peace, solitude and serenity,” said Sister Carol Petrasovich, director, House of Prayer.
The schedule follows:
Dec. 10: Pre-Christmas Day, presented by Monsignor George Appleyard, from 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration due Dec. 5 and includes lunch.
Dec. 11: Pre-Christmas Day, presented by Dr. Sandra Collins from 1:15 to 4:30 p.m. Registration due Dec. 6 and includes supper.
Jan. 8: House of Prayer open house from 1 to 3 p.m.
Feb. 24-26: Poustinia Retreat from 6 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday. Registration is due Feb. 20.
March 4: Lenten Day of Prayer from 1:15 to 4:30 p.m. Presenter to be announced. Offering includes supper.
March 6, 13, 20 and 27: Spiritual Reading Series from 9:30 to 11 a.m., presented by Petrasovich and Sister Barbara Jean Mihalchick. Registration due March 1.
March 10: Lenten Day of Prayer from 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., presented by the Rev. Damon Geiger. Registration due March 5 and includes lunch.
March 26, 28 and 30: Morning of Personal Prayer from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Registration due March 23.
April 14: Healing Retreat with the Rev. William Kiel from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration due April 9 and includes lunch.
April 22: Earth Day from 1 to 4 p.m., presented by Sister Marian Senish. Registration due April 19.
The Sisters ask that anyone interested register early. Early registration helps to avoid the cancellation of programs.
