South Fayette Nursing Center of Markleysburg will hold a free concert at 3 p.m. Saturday featuring The Chris Higbee Project. The concert will be held rain or shine. Food and beverages will be available. Lawn seating and door prizes will be featured. Fatt Man’s Face will open the concert. No alcoholic beverages will be permitted. Flat Iron Heritage Center Museum and the Frank Melega Art Museum on Market Street in Brownsville is open to the public from 11?a.m. to 2?p.m. Monday through Saturday, 1 to 4?p.m. Sunday, or by appointment. There is no admission charge but donations are welcome. The museum features artifacts from the National Road and industrial eras as well as a gift shop. The Fayette County Law Library presents Kathy Reed of Somerset as the artist for the Month for July. Reed’s collection of paper cuttings can be seen at the Law Library on the second floor of the Fayette County Courthouse. The public is invited, admission is free and the hours of operation are from 8?a.m. to 4:30?p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce 16th annual Independence Day celebration and fireworks display will be held Monday.

The Greensboro Farmers’ Fair and Market is held every Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to noon at the Greensboro Gazebo.  Special activities this Saturday will include red white and blue ice-cream making from 9 a.m. to 11:30 as the Children’s Activity, a visit from Lippencott Alpacas and music by Mike Brown of Bobtown. 

Phantom Cruisers 8th annual Car/Bike Show and Swap Meet will be held at the Fayette County Fairgrounds in Dunbar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Car show registration will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a registration fee for each show vehicle. Vendor spaces are available for a small fee. Spectators enter free. Dash plaques and goodie bags to the first 200 vehicles. Music will be provided by DJ Arnie Amber. There will be door prizes, 50/50, kid’s activities, raffles, Chinese auction, and kid’s Chinese auction, food by Courtyard Catering and The Ice Creamery. Trophies will be awarded to the top 60 vehicles plus three special awards. Winners will be chosen by participant vote. Best of show will be judged. Portion of the proceeds will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. For more information, call 724-785-3503.

A car cruise is held from 6 to 9 p.m. Every Friday at the Subway Restaurant at Uniontown Shopping Center, Morgantown Road, featuring disc jockey Arnie Amber, 50/50 and door prizes.
