COUNTY CALENDAR
CHURCH PICNIC – Unity Presbyterian Church of Graysville will hold its annual church picnic on July 9 starting at 3?p.m. at Bissett Campgrounds near Rutan. All community residents and their friends are invited to attend. Bring a covered dish for the evening meal, which will begin at 5?p.m.
FAMILY REUNION – The Clutter/Ealy Family Reunion will be held on Sunday, July 10 at Prosperity Park. Lunch will be served at noon. Hot dogs, chicken and drinks will be provided. Please bring a covered dish. Donations will be accepted for future reunions. Games will be provided for youths.
?VBS ANNOUNCED – Vacation Bible School for children in preschool through sixth grade will be held at Hewitt Presbyterian Church in Rices Landing July 11-15 from 6-8:30?p.m. each day. For more information, call the church at 724-592-6111.
CAR SHOW – The 15th Annual Ice Plant Car Show in Greensboro will be held on July 16. Registration will begin at 10?a.m. The show will be held at the Ice Plant Pavilion. YARD SALE – The 20th annual Cabbage Flats All-Town Yard Sale along Route 88 in Greensboro will be held on July 16. Come early for best selections.
LIBRARY NIGHT – On July 19, Bowlby Public Library will be holding their “Library Night @PNC Park. The game starts at 7:05?p.m. Tickets will be $8 and no transportation is provided. For more info, call the library at 724-627-9776.
JACKTOWN FAIR – The 146th Annual Jacktown Fair will be held in Wind Ridge July 19-23. The fair offers a wide variety of activities that will appeal to everyone regardless of your age. Come enjoy the display of prize produce and share farming ideas. In addition, there will be games, competitions, musical performances, food , a parade and more. RAIN DAY – On Friday, July 29, downtown Waynesburg will once again be the site for the 137th Annual Rain Day Celebration. Come enjoy visiting old friends, listening to music, watching the competitions and eating some delicious festival food. This event is sponsored by the Waynesburg Borough Special Events Commission. COUNTY FAIR – The annual Greene County Agricultural Fair will be held Aug. 7-13 at the Greene County Fairgrounds. This week-long fair is an opportunity for local farmers, 4H participants and community members to display their livestock, crafts, baked goods, needlework, canned goods and homegrown produce in various competitions. DRIVING CLASSES – Seniors for Safe Driving will present a safety program for drivers aged 55 and older on Aug. 8 and 9. This program will take place at the Fox Ford Mercury Dealership on High Street in Waynesburg. The program is certified by the Pa. Dept. of Transportation.
