?I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July. I spent some time at Yough Lake with my friends and family and also spent time just relaxing, which is always a welcomed activity.
But no more long weekends until September, which will give you plenty of time to see what’s happening on the Heraldstandard.com website.
I hope you have had the chance to see our “Top 20 People to Watch” section. This section recognizes people in our area that are really making a difference in their communities and in the lives of others. If you are one of those people that look down on Fayette County and think that nothing good ever happens here, then this online section will really make you see this area and the people in it differently.
And make sure you click on the link to comment on the profiles and people. We would love to hear from you. Nominations for next year’s Top 20 will begin in February; so begin thinking now of the people you know are making a difference around here and make sure to nominate them.
For you yard sale junkies like me out there, there will be a charity yard sale to benefit the Center of Hope Pregnancy Center today and tomorrow on Collier Road in Uniontown. Check it out and give to charity at the same time. Another upcoming event new to the area is Arts at the Lardin House, a festival of arts and crafts which will be held next weekend.
So there is a lot going on in the area. And coming next month on the Heraldstandard.com website is the Family Life Guide, which will cover important topics from pets to health to education to entertainment.
