?The mud will fly at the Outdoor Arena, now named the Chevron Arena, at this year’s Fayette County Fair.

Early birds will find the Chevron Arena kicking off with the Westmoreland Tractor Pulling Associates-sanctioned pull at 6?p.m. Wednesday, July 27.

With the fair officially open on Thursday, July 28, Croushore’s Demolition Derby will likely give the crowd plenty of crashing and smashing to cheer about. The smashing and crashing will begin at 7?p.m. at the Outdoor Arena.

“This is a demo derby county,” said fair board President Bill Jackson.

At 7:30?p.m. Friday, July 29, The Clarks, will be taking the stage. The nationally known group, which features Scott Blasey, originally of Connellsville, will be returning to the Chevron Arena for the second year in a row.

Early-risers will have the chance to see the garden tractor and dead-weight tractor pull at 9?a.m. Saturday, July 30. Later in the day, at 6:30?p.m., keystone mini tractors, stock 4×4 pickup pull and modified pickup pull will heave ho into the Outdoor Arena.

Motocross will aim to rev up the fans at the Chevron Arena on Sunday, July 31. Practice rounds will begin at 3?p.m., followed by the races at 5?p.m. and a feature event at 7:30?p.m.

Stock semi- and tri-axle truck pull and limited pro stock tractor pull will entertain spectators at 7?p.m. Monday, Aug 1.

At 7?p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, Croushore’s Demolition Derby will return for another night of crushing collisions.

Monster truck and two-wheel-drive, all-terrain vehicle races should give the crowd much to cheer about. Virginia Giant, Samson, Bad News, Eliminator, Illuminator, Megasaurus, the “car-nivourous” transformer and the “Jet Quad” will star in the family friendly show at 7?p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3.

The “Boys and Bulls” Rodeo and the Fayette County Fair team penning competition will be held at the Chevron Arena at 7:30?p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4.

It will be time to get down and dirty during Mud Mania 4×4 trucks and open vehicles and 4×4 quads at the Chevron Arena at 7?p.m. Friday, Aug. 5.

On the final day of the fair, Saturday, Aug. 6, a horse-pulling contest will take place at 11:00?a.m. Then at 6:30?p.m., Croushore’s Demolition Derby will close the fair with a big bang — literally.

“We don’t change up a lot (of acts), but the things we do are pretty popular,” said Jackson.

Anyone interested in participating in an event at the Chevron Arena or for more information can call the fair office at 724-628-FAIR (3247).
