Lori’s look

By Lori Goodwin Scottdigital Media Content Convergence Editor 2 min read

?I’ve been letting my “mommy” guard down a little bit lately with my puppy, Miley. See, I live on a very busy road and I am so afraid that if I let her off the leash at home, she will run onto the road. We haven’t had a chance to install an invisible fence yet or really train her on the boundaries of the yard.

But, this past week, we have allowed her to have some good, old animal fun at my parents’ house and at the Yough Lake. We took her to my mom and dad’s, let her off the leash and she had a great time running around in the woods and in their backyard. Then, we took her on her first boat trip at the Yough. Of course, I bought her a life jacket first.

It was so nice to see her have so much fun running around in the water with her best friend, Tres, a 2-year-old chocolate lab that belongs to friends of ours.

They played in the water, ran around like crazy and then crashed on the porch next to each other.

If you have some pet stories, tips and pics that you would like to share in our Family Life Guide that will be available on the Heraldstandard.com website in August, send them to me at lgoodwinscott@heraldstandard.com.

Additionally, if you have family, kids, education or entertainment tips, I would love to include them in our guide as well.

Nobody knows more about families than moms and dads.
