Union Church

The crowd may not have been great but music and enthusiasm were tremendous on June 2 when Charlene Wineman and the Dominion Trio performed at the Marklyesburg Union Church.

A local woman, Charlene Wineman, opened the program by singing several musical selections followed by the Dominion Trio, a group from Salem, Va. The trio includes Nora and Marvin Parsons and their son, Bradley, and pianist, Tim Meeker.

Particularly impressive was 11-year-old Bradley, who did not talk when adopted three years ago from the Hope Children’s Home in Tampa, Fla. He now not only talks but has personality plus, sings beautifully, and plays eight different instruments.

The church sends packages to the troops several times a year and will meet at 7?p.m. June 21 to pack boxes.
