FCCAA’s Uniontown Adult Recreation Center offers soup and salad bar to public
Fayette County Community Action Agency (FCCAA) Inc.’s newly renovated Uniontown Adult Recreation Center is now offering a weekday lunchtime soup and salad bar to the public.
The soup and salad bar is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the center located at 137 N. Beeson Blvd., Uniontown.
Debbie Bricker, the center’s project manager, said the center is offering a full salad bar, featuring lettuce, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, cucumbers and black and green olives.
Salad dressings include buttermilk ranch, Italian, oil and vinegar and balsamic vinaigrette.
Soup choices include: potato, Monday; chicken noodle, Tuesday; broccoli, Wednesday; chef’s choice, Thursday; and potato, Friday. Quarts of soup also are available for take out.
“We’re open to suggestions for the salad bar,” Bricker said. “We will have more vegetable choices on the salad bar in the summer time.”
Prices include the following: $5.50 for the full soup and salad bar, which includes a drink; $4 for the salad only; $2 for soup only; $1.25 for flavored water; $1 for bottled water; and 75 cents for juice.
Proceeds from the soup and salad bar will benefit FCCAA’s aging programs, Bricker said.
In December 2010, FCCAA opened the doors of its newly renovated center during a grand reopening celebration.
The center, which had previously operated as the Uniontown Senior Center, underwent a $98,637 renovation project funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging Nutrition Services Grant Program.
