Kiefer earns honor

Rebekka Kiefer of Smithfield was honored during the Celebration of Student Success at Lebanon Valley College. Honorees are recognized for making an impact on the campus as a new student. Kiefer was nominated by faculty and administrators.

Raven See of Belle Vernon has earned recognition as a Cowles Scholar at Elmira College. To achieve standing as a Cowles Honor Scholar, students must be members of the Class of 2011, have attended at least two terms and hold a 3.6 cumulative grade-point average.

Erin Nass of Uniontown and Lauren Tyger of Mount Pleasant have been named to the dean’s list at Denison University for the fall 2010 semester.

Albert on dean’s list

Kathryn Albert of South Union Township has been named to the dean’s list at the University of Kentucky for the fall 2010 semester.

Two on dean’s list

Erica Brooks of Connellsville and Alyssa Welch and Amy Zebley, both of Uniontown, have been named to the dean’s list at Alderson-Broaddus College for the fall 2010 semester.

Klamerus earns coat

Megan Klamerus was recently given her medical white coat at a ceremony held on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. by the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. The symbolic gesture is presented to first-year medical students by school administrators and teaching doctors. Klamerus graduated from Brownsville Area High School and earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Pittsburgh.

Cossick honored

Zack Cossick of Mount Pleasant has been named the dean’s list at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg for the 2010 fall semester.

Dedola on list

Alyssa Dedola of Uniontown has been named to the dean’s list at the McAnulty College of Liberal Arts at Duquesne University for the fall 2010 semester.

Wilson graduates

Jordan Wilson of Brownsville graduated summa cum laude from California University of Pennsylvania in December.

Dzara on dean’s list

Jessica Dzara of Smock has been named to the dean’s list at the Mylan School of Pharmacy at Duquesne University for the fall 2010 semester.

Markle earns honor

Tessa Markle of Scottdale has been named to the dean’s list at Washington and Jefferson College for the fall 2010 semester.

Alden scholars named

The following students have been named Alden Scholars for the 2009-10 academic year at Allegheny College.

Alden Scholar awards are presented to students who maintained a grade- point average of 3.2 or higher during the preceding academic year.
