FCCAA plans host of activities March 19-20
Fayette County Community Action Agency Inc. (FCCAA) will hold its 19th annual St. Patrick’s Day weekend of festivities March 19 and 20 at Uniontown Mall.
There is a registration fee for each event. Featured will be:
n FCCAA on March 19 will host the Upper Room St. Patrick’s Day Stride with Pride, a non-competitive mall walk. Registration is from 7 to 7:45 a.m. and the event will begin at 8 a.m. at JCPenney Court. A commemorative long sleeved T-shirt will be given to the first 50 pre-registered individuals. Participants will have one hour to walk as many laps as possible. For each lap walked, the participant will receive tickets to be used for prize drawings. Because the event is non-competitive, walkers of every fitness level can comfortably participate.
Proceeds benefit the senior citizens served by FCCAA.
n Fayette County Nurse-Family Partnership on March 19 will host the annual Sprowls Insurance Group 5Y Diaper Derby. The event starts with registration at 10:30 a.m. and the race at 11 at the JCPenney Court.
A commemorative T-shirt is included with the first 50 pre-registered babies and toddlers. This event is a competition for crawling babies and toddlers up to 36 months old. Crawlers will crawl five yards and walkers will walk five yards from one cheering “coach” to another cheering “coach.”
Participants are eligible to win a United States savings bond.
All proceeds from the Diaper Derby benefit the families served by the Fayette County Nurse-Family Partnership.
n FCCAA will host the annual Boston Beanery St. Patrick’s Day 5K Run/Walk March 20. Registration is from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. at the JCPenney Court and the event begins at 9 a.m. The first 250 participants to register will receive an official 2011 Boston Beanery St. Patrick’s Day 5K Run/Walk commemorative sweatshirt.
All proceeds benefit Fayette County families in crisis served by FCCAA.
