Nemacolin Woodlands to host breast cancer fundraiser
Nemacolin Woodlands Resort will welcome Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Ambassador, Heidi Floyd on Dec. 3, at a “Hope for the Holidays” event to raise funds for breast cancer research.
Floyd’s unique and inspiring story of battling breast cancer while pregnant has captivated audiences nationwide. For a $35 ticket, guests will enjoy lunch, giveaways and a memorable presentation while shopping for the newest Vera Bradley colors and styles in Nemacolin’s friendly and unique gift shop.
The day also includes a holiday wine tasting and showcase by Christian W. Klay Winery, a trunk show presented by Marian’s Jewel Box and the opportunity to meet celebrated artist Marcus Glenn.
“We’re delighted to partner with Nemacolin Woodlands Resort to raise funds for breast cancer research,” said Catherine Hill, executive director of the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.
“Our Vera Bradley retailers are the perfect partners to help us spread the word about the important work of the Vera Bradley Foundation.” The Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer was founded by Vera Bradley owners Barbara Baekgaard and Patricia Miller in 1998.
To date, it has contributed $12.25 million to the world renowned research team in the Indiana University Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis, Ind.
Impressive sales of the Vera Bradley breast cancer awareness colors generate part of this revenue, but another significant portion is contributed by donors such as Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and those who support their events. A portion of all wine and retail sales will also be donated to the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.
