Monessen shuts down Maples, 34-0

Mapletown is still seeking its first win of the season after Monessen extended the Maples’ 2011 losing streak to two games Friday night with a 34-0 Tri-County South Conference loss at home.

The Greyhounds’ Jalen Madison rushed 18 times for 111 yards and scored on a 33-yard run, and also caught three passes for 54 yards, including touchdown receptions of 36 and 19 yards from Chavas Rawlins.

Rawlins complete 12-of-20 passes for 169 yards and two interceptions. He also had an 8-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Lenhart.

Mapletown quarterback Marcus Cumpston completed 6-of-23 passes for 100 yards and two interceptions. Tyler Kamenos was the top receiver with four receptions for 69 yards.

Mapletown (0-2, 0-2) is at Beth-Center next week for another conference game.
